GIA PRACTICAL LABS · SOFTWARE PRACTICE

Are you ready to level up?

Welcome to GIA Practical Labs — the place where you stop learning bookkeeping only from lessons and start doing the work inside accounting software.

Think first → decide correctly → implement in the software → prove the result.
WHAT PRACTICAL LABS ARE

This is where your knowledge becomes practical skill

Inside each lab, you will work through a realistic bookkeeping situation using an assigned accounting software environment. You will investigate the information provided, apply the GIA 7 Methods, make your accounting decision, and then implement that decision in the software.

You may be asked to build a Chart of Accounts, categorize transactions, reconcile an account, investigate an exception, review automation, perform a month-end process, or complete a full-cycle bookkeeping task.

We are not training you to memorize buttons. We are training you to know what should happen, then prove that you can make it happen correctly in the software.
WHAT YOU WILL PRODUCE

Your work becomes evidence

  1. Complete the assigned software task
  2. Capture relevant screenshots
  3. Record your process when required
  4. Explain the accounting decisions you made
  5. Show the resulting outcome
  6. Add strong evidence to your GIA Portfolio
ImportantOnly use a Sample Company, dedicated training company, or other non-client environment. Never use confidential client information for practice or portfolio evidence.
